Infectious & Tropical Diseases
Infectious & Tropical Diseases is the branch of medical science that studies the diagnostic and treatment of human infectious diseases caused by bacteria, viruses, fungi, protozoa or parasites.
Infectious diseases are usually qualified as contagious diseases (also called communicable diseases) due to their potentiality of transmission from one person to another. Transmission of an infectious disease may occur through diverse pathways : physical contact with infected person, liquids, food, body fluids, contaminated objects, airborne inhalation, or through vector-borne spread.
Infectious & Tropical Diseases medical services include counseling for necessary vaccines needed before taking a trip abroad and prevention infectious diseases related to the destinations (insect bites - i.e. malaria, sexual transmitted diseases, etc.).
